Mike Poole Decorators has been welcoming Apprentices for over 17 years; Mike quotes, "Working with young people gives me purpose and it’s really satisfying to see them learn and grow - and it helps keep me young too."

Since 2005, whilst studying at Tresham College in Corby, Mike has consistently worked with an Apprentice. With his status as a Dulux Select Decorator and Ambassador for the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Mike has been able to share his knowledge and expertise with the new generation of Painters and Decorators.

Mike has been one of the leading names in helping people find their way into the decorating industry, by creating a safe space for people of all ages to hone their skills and learn the trade inside out, Mike Poole Decorators previously helped newcomers find their feet in the Painting and Decorating world.

Mike Poole states, “We have helped train a mix of students - male, female, young, mature and those with additional needs". Mike previously welcomed everyone who’s looking to gain work experience. " Once one of our Apprentices has completed their course, we help to find them a place with another decorator in town. It helps get them into work quickly and frees up a space for us to help another Apprentice.”

Mike previously contributed to Training Programmes and College learning groups in Northampton and Bedford. Mike's main focus is collaborating with local teachers and business owners to provide work experience placements for individuals aspiring to build a career in painting and decorating. Mike's unwavering commitment to nurturing and developing apprentices was recognised when he won the National award 'Apprentice Mentor Of The Year' at the 'Dulux Select Decorators Awards 2021', at the Ricoh Center, Coventry.

Mike previously was dedicated to sharing his knowledge with industry newcomers; helping to hone their skills in the field of painting and decorating. Mike previously was eager to share his experience and insights to guide and shape the future generation of Painters and Decorators.
